Introduction - The Nameless
They ate no flesh, those that arrived from the void. At least, that is what the [[datavaults]] tell us, for much about [[The Nameless]] has been lost to time… and to those less patient.
There are, of course, competing accounts. It is said that The Nameless were drawn to the unknown, to things yet discovered; in a sense, nameless things. Accounts of direct contact, while sparse, describe a severe loss of mental faculties. Memories became fuzzy, still intact, just distanced from language. Personal anecdotes state that some objects and ideas became painful to try and comprehend, the words to name and describe them just out of reach. Of course, before the [[The Long Silence]], these things were impossible to diagnose and treat, leading to a near collapse of the [[proto-Ordo Mundi]]. This blight of the mind was more commonly referred to as [[The Disparatus]], a seemingly invisible wave of despair and horror as people low and high became afflicted, ultimately resulting in colossal losses of life.
